Today I got an email from the JBFC is a 501(c)(3) a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating extreme poverty throughout East Africa by building self-sustaining, holistic care campuses, which primarily serve orphaned and street girls, providing them with safe refuge, nutrition, education, healthcare and hope for a new life.

Joseph's scholarship fund has gone to support some of the students in this new venture. There are many small micro foundations in Africa now. Activists are getting away from working for the large non-profits, they are identifying needs, and working directly to solve particular needs. Not as many white jeeps traveling around Africa. Wherever there is alot of money, there is a loss of respect for the worth of the dollar. Better to work on a shoe string, and make every dollar work for the identified cause. The JBFC does this, working hard and spending wisely. It is an interesting non-profit that is growing.
